West Capella, Sevan Louisiana pick up extended work for Seadrill

Seadrill secured a contract extension for the drillship West Capella with PTTEP in Malaysia and additional days for the semisubmersible Sevan Louisiana in the US Gulf. The West Capella extension covers an estimated 75 days and commits the rig into August 2027, building on its initial contract with PTTEP that started in March 2026.

The Sevan Louisiana added approximately 45 days in direct continuation of its prior program, keeping the rig working in the US Gulf into August 2026.

Seadrill reported the updates alongside its second quarter 2026 results. The company’s contract backlog stood at approximately $2.9 billion as of 10 August 2026.
