Vibration suppression tool designed to help operators stay in hole, providing benefits in longer laterals
As operators push lateral lengths longer and longer, they are turning to vibration-control technology that keeps drilling assemblies in the well longer. In this video interview with DC, Guy Feasey, Global Business and Operations Advisor at Neo Oiltools, talked about why lateral lengths have increased dramatically over the past decade and how the company’s NeoTork vibration suppression tool helps with these laterals. The tool targets bit-rock interaction, reacting quickly to torque to prevent stick-slip and HFTO before they escalate. This allows greater weight on bit, lower mechanical specific energy, higher ROP and longer runs without early trips.
Mr Feasey will be speaking on 10 November at the IADC Drilling Engineers Committee’s Q4 Technical Forum in Houston. This free event is open to all drilling professionals. Register to attend here: https://iadc.org/event/iadc-dec-tech-forum-q4/.
