Transocean Equinox set to drill Juliet, Annie wells in Southern Australia

Amplitude Energy agreed to acquire a 50% interest in the VIC/L35 production license, which contains the Artisan gas field, in the offshore Otway Basin from Beach Energy. The transaction prompts a revised drilling schedule for the Transocean Equinox semi currently working the basin offshore Southern Australia.

As part of the same agreement, O.G. Energy will also acquire an additional 10% interest in the Artisan field, resulting in Amplitude and O.G. Energy each holding 50% stake in the field. Beach Energy will retain operatorship through completion of the Artisan development well, expected in June 2026. Amplitude will assume operatorship thereafter.

As a result of the transaction, the drilling schedule for the Transocean Equinox has been adjusted to bring the Artisan well forward. Amplitude Energy is now set to receive the rig in July–August to drill the Juliet-1 exploration well, followed by the Annie-2 development well.
