Touchstone puts PS-623 onstream, moves rig to second WD-4 location

Touchstone Exploration brought the first well of its two-well WD-4 block development campaign in Trinidad onstream. PS-623 was spud on 19 September 2026 and reached a total depth of 6,500 ft on 4 October.
The company’s interpretation of wireline logs indicates about 450 ft of potential net hydrocarbon pay between 3,326 ft and 6,250 ft. The well was completed across 40 ft in the Cruse formation and produced at a field-estimated flush rate of about 387 barrels of oil per day (bopd) during its first 24 hours, a rate that is not indicative of stabilized production. The drilling rig has mobilized to the second location, where the next well is expected to spud shortly.
On the Central block, Touchstone completed the Karamat sands at the Carapal Ridge-3 (CR-3) well in October, perforating 62 ft between 6,540 ft and 6,619 ft. Cleanup and flow testing began on 19 October. During a four-day extended test, CR-3 averaged about 5.0 million cu ft/d (mcf/d) of natural gas on a 60% open choke and 6.8 mcf/d on an 80% open choke, with minimal condensate and no formation water observed.
The well is connected to the Central block gas processing facility, and testing continues with downhole pressure recorders installed. The company said the preliminary rates are not necessarily indicative of long-term performance.
Touchstone plans three optimization workovers at the Cascadura field before year-end: a coiled tubing cleanout at Cascadura-3ST1, an oil zone recompletion at Cascadura-5 and a workover at Cascadura Deep-1 to commingle two Herrera zones. The company also plans a workover at Baraka-1 on the Central block to evaluate a lower Herrera interval previously tested by a prior operator.
