Three Norwegian Sea fields come on stream a year early for Aker BP
Aker BP started production from the Skarv Satellite Project, comprising the Alve Nord, Idun Nord and Ørn fields in the Norwegian Sea, one year ahead of the original schedule. Each field has been developed as a separate subsea development, with a subsea template and two wells tied back to the Skarv FPSO.
The three developments hold approximately 120 million barrels of oil equivalent of recoverable resources and carry a CO₂ intensity of about 4.5 kg per barrel of oil equivalent through use of existing infrastructure.
The project was executed under Aker BP’s alliance model with OneSubsea, Subsea7, Aker Solutions and Halliburton, with Saipem involved during the drilling phase.
Aker BP operates all three licenses. Harbour Energy, ORLEN Upstream Norway, JAPEX Norge and Equinor hold the remaining interests across Alve Nord (PL 127C), Idun Nord (PL 159D) and Ørn (PL 942).
