New Canrig Titan wrench bolsters tubular automation capabilities

Canrig Drilling Technology, a subsidiary of Nabors Industries, recently launched the Canrig Titan, an automated rig floor wrench that minimizes manual intervention on tubular connections. In this video shot at the technology’s launch event on 5 August in Magnolia, Texas, DC spoke with Brian Winter, VP of Engineering at Nabors Industries, about the wrench. In particular, Mr Winter discussed the functionalities that the wrench enables on the rig floor, the tubular-running challenges addressed by the wrench’s automation capabilities, and the impact the wrench has had on connection times in the field.
