Indonesia’s PDSI looks to digital transformation, generative HSE culture as backbone for growth
With a fleet of 58 rigs – 53 land rigs, three jackups and two offshore workover rigs – Pertamina Drilling Services Indonesia (PDSI) is constantly searching for new ways to maximize the value of those assets. This includes an ongoing digital transformation of its fleet capabilities, as well a growing focus on offering integrated well construction services to its customers. At the 2026 SPE/IADC Asia Pacific Drilling Technology Conference in Bali, Indonesia, on 6 August, DC spoke with Avep Disasmita, President Director of PDSI, not only about his views on technology but also safety. Mr Disasmita noted his vision for developing what he called a generative HSE culture at PDSI, as well as efforts to develop a strong pipeline of talent for Indonesia’s future energy workforce.
