IADC Future Technology Subcommittee looking to spark new technology ideas
In June, the IADC Future Technology Subcommittee (FTS) held the first Spark Tank, a forum that allows innovative entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas for new technologies and products to a panel of drilling contractors and operators. The subcommittee is now preparing to hold a second Spark Tank on 27 October in Houston, Bob Judge, FTS Co-Chairman and Director of Product Management at GE Oil & Gas, said at the 2016 IADC Advanced Rig Technology Conference in Galveston, Texas. In this video from the conference on 13 September, Mr Judge discusses the Spark Tank concept, as well as the three phases that FTS has outlined to help introduce new and innovative technologies that will help to address industry challenges.
Space is limited for the next Spark Tank event on 27 October.
