FMC Technologies to receive Spotlight on New Technology Award at OTC Brasil
FMC Technologies will receive the inaugural Spotlight on New Technology Award to be presented on 28 October during the 2015 OTC Brasil. “The Spotlight on New Technology Award recognizes the extraordinary inventiveness occurring in the E&P industry which furthers development of offshore resources in safer and more efficient ways,” OTC Brasil Spotlight Committee Chair Steve Balint said. “We are pleased to introduce this award for exhibitors at OTC Brasil 2015 to highlight some of the game-changing technologies on display at this conference.”
FMC Technologies will receive the award for its Shape Memory Alloy Fittings for Subsea Equipment. The criteria for the award was:
- New – less than 2 years old
- Innovative – original and capable of developing the offshore E&P industry
- Proven – through full-scale application or successful prototype testing
- Broad interest – broad appeal for the industry
- Significant impact – provides significant benefits beyond existing technologies
“I congratulate the award recipient FMC Technologies,” said OTC Brasil 2015 Chairman João Carlos de Luca. “Breakthrough technologies applied in deep waters of Campos Basin have now shifted to the even deeper and more challenging environments of the Santos Basin to develop presalt giant fields. Innovative technologies there have created a fertile and open ground place to be deployed in coming years.”
