Equinor to drill North Sea wildcat with COSLPromoter

The Norwegian Offshore Directorate (Sodir) granted Equinor a drilling permit on 27 October for wildcat wellbore 33/9-F-4 DH in the North Sea. The permit was issued under Section 13 of the Resource Management Regulations and targets production license 1214.

Equinor will drill the well with the COSLPromoter semisubmersible. The location is in 285 m of water at 61° 26′ 40.43’’ N, 1° 57′ 23.18’’ E, and the well is not a reentry. The wellhead sits in production license 037, while the drilling target lies in license 1214.
