COSL Innovator cleared for Equinor well on Grane prospect

Norway’s Ocean Industry Authority (Havtil) granted Equinor consent on 24 September to drill exploration well 25/9-5 S in the North Sea using the COSL Innovator semisubmersible. The well will target the Grane prospect in block 25/9.

The well lies in production license 1042 in 124 m of water. The Norwegian Offshore Directorate granted Equinor the drilling permit for the well on 15 September.

The COSL Innovator has been drilling for Equinor on the Norwegian Continental Shelf this year. Its campaign included well 25/7-13 in production license 782 S, which proved a gas/condensate discovery in August.
