Valeura completes Jasmine drilling campaign, announces Suraphi discovery

Valeura Energy discovered a new oil field, named Suraphi, near its Manora field in the Gulf of Thailand, following the drilling of the Manora-9 exploration well and associated sidetracks. The D and E prospects each intersected oil-bearing sandstone intervals in the 600-series lacustrine sands, with the D prospect encountering 172 ft of net oil pay and the E prospect 162 ft. A third sidetrack targeting a shallower play was not hydrocarbon-bearing.

Prior to the discovery, Valeura completed a development and appraisal drilling campaign on its Jasmine field, comprising four wellbores across the Jasmine C and Jasmine D platforms, including two horizontal development wells and two dual-objective deviated wells. Oil production rates rose from about 7,570 bopd before the new wells were brought onstream to about 8,250 bopd afterward.

Valeura will demobilize the Borr Mist jackup following the current campaign and plans to resume Gulf of Thailand drilling operations in November 2026 with the Shelf Drilling Enterprise rig, beginning with the Nong Yao field before moving to development drilling on the Wassana field.
