Peter Zebedee set to succeed Rich Kruger at Suncor

Suncor Energy’s board of directors announced plans for Rich Kruger, current president and CEO, to transition to the role of executive vice chair in April 2027. Peter Zebedee, currently executive vice president of upstream, will be named president and CEO concurrent with Mr Kruger assuming his new role.

To support the transition, Mr Zebedee will be appointed president and CFO on 14 September 2026, taking oversight of all non-operating functions ahead of the formal handover. He joined Suncor in 2022 and previously served as CEO of LNG Canada, with a career that also includes roles at Shell, Petro-Canada and Syncrude.
