Seven Borr rigs secure work across five countries
Borr Drilling reported new contracts, extensions and a letter of award for seven jackups in its August 2026 fleet status report, adding work across Vietnam, Malaysia, Mexico, Ivory Coast and the Netherlands.
The Idun rig secured a new contract with an undisclosed operator offshore Vietnam running from July to September 2026, followed by a contract with HLHV JOC from September to October 2026. The Gunnlod rig won a contract with PVEP-NCS in Vietnam running from August 2026 to April 2027.
The Prospector 1 rig obtained a contract extension with ONE-Dyas in the Netherlands, running from September 2026 to April 2027. The Gerd rig secured a contract extension with Foxtrot International in Ivory Coast, covering February to March 2027. Galar and Gersemi each received contract extensions with Pemex in Mexico, both running from May 2028 to May 2030. The Mist rig secured a binding letter of award with Sarawak Shell in Malaysia for October to November 2026.
Elsewhere in the fleet, the Skald rig started operations with Vestigo Petroleum in Malaysia in late May; the Prospector 5 rig concluded work with Eni in Congo and began operations with BW Energy in Gabon in early July; the Sif rig began operations with Petronas in Suriname in mid-July; the Thor rig concluded work with HLHV JOC in Vietnam and moved directly into a contract with PVEP-Cuulong; and the Odin rig began mobilizing to an undisclosed operator’s location offshore Texas in mid-August.
