While most of the CCS deployment from currently known projects are being driven by decarbonizing the hydrocarbon production sectors, such as natural gas processing, manufacturing sectors are expected to adopt CCS over time, particularly in industries like cement, steel and chemicals. Those sectors are forecast to account for 41% of all captured CO2 emissions in 2050.
