In This Virtual Panel Discussion:

As we have seen before, disruptive events often have an impact on safety performance in our industry. The COVID-19 crisis is no exception, and several companies report that their performance has been improving over the past few months. In many cases this can be explained by factors such as reduced complexity, reduced level of activity or reduced number of persons present on the rig or at the production facility.

However, some companies have observed that their performance has improved well above what should have been expected from these activity and complexity reductions. This begs the question of whether a crisis like the one we are experiencing has the potential of bringing about changes, which can improve safety generally.

To elucidate this topic, we have asked speakers from four companies to tell us what they have experienced and how they interpret their safety performance during the COVID-19 crisis. Following a 10 minutes’ introduction by each of the speakers, we will have half an hour’s discussion, where you will have an opportunity to ask questions or to share your views.
