Experience of using forklifts in the hold of a vessel
The mechanization of reloading in the hold of a vessel is a complex and important matter. The difficulty lies in the fact that the variety of holds designs and methods for placing various cargoes in them does not always allow the use of existing machines to mechanize these operations.

It is known that the further development and completion of the continuous mechanized process of loading and unloading a ship to a large extent depends on solving the problem of mechanization of hold work. The experience of using bilge machines is of great interest and should be used on a large scale.

Unloading a deep hold, in which the cargo is stacked to a height of more than 2750 mm and can not be removed by a forklift, begins with a layer-by-layer unloading of the upper rows, which is carried out using rosin units.

After unloading the upper rows, a part of the hold is unloaded under the hatch to the floor, and then the forklift is put into operation. In the hold, the forklift transports the cargo to the hatch in one of the following two ways.

1st method. Having taken the load from the stack, the forklift turns around and, leaving the clearance of the hatch, puts the load on pre-prepared bars, then turns around again and drives up for the next batch of cargo. With this option, turns and maneuvering for accurate stacking of the load on the bars take up a significant part of the loader’s work cycle.

2nd method. Taking the load, the forklift moves back in reverse and, without turning around, leaves for the hatch. Here he raises the load to a height of not more than 1 m. The cargo is built up directly on the fangs of the forklift, after which the fangs are lowered and the load remains hanging on the slings.

The forklift drives off and the shore crane lifts to the pier. Also, without a U-turn, the forklift drives up for the next portion of cargo.

In the second embodiment, the forklift cycle is significantly reduced.

The performance of a forklift truck in the processing of box cargo weighing 1000-1500 kg and mileage up to 9 m, according to data obtained by monitoring the operation of a forklift in the hold of the ship "Akademik Karpinsky", is 40-45 t / h. The productivity of a coastal crane during the processing of this cargo is usually about 20 tons / hour and is limited by hold work.

Thus, the use of one forklift in the hold of the vessel allows you to double the rate of production for each hatch. The use of two or more forklift trucks is impractical due to cramped working conditions. Thanks to the use of a forklift in the hold of the vessel, instead of 4, 2 loaders work, providing full loading of the forklift and the shore crane.

The experience of using forklifts in the hold of ships in the port of Leningrad allows us to conclude that this method is expedient, as well as the need to design and create special forklifts for the mechanization of bilge work. Slot machines have become very popular on the Internet, but unfortunately there are many not decent casinos that delay winnings, there are the best online casinos where you can be sure that you will be paid any amount won without delay.
